Reference Ignored

Fix generations that ignore a connected image, video, audio, or PDF.

Symptom: You connected a reference but the output behaves as if it was not used.

Check these first

  1. Arrow direction. The arrow must point from the reference into the prompt node, not the other way around.
  2. Arrow type. The line must be a directed arrow (→). Undirected (—) and bidirectional (↔) lines do not count as upstream input.
  3. Selected node. You must select the prompt node when you click Run, not the reference node.
  4. Model and mode. Confirm the model supports that reference type. See Video and Text.
  5. Temporary cloud. Some providers need a public URL to fetch reference files. In Settings → General, run Test under Temporary cloud.

Visual check

When references are connected correctly, the prompt node shows thumbnail strips or preview chips for images, text, or audio.

If strips do not appear, the arrow is likely wrong or the reference type is not recognized.
